Mission Statement

It is the mission of Guerin Inc. to provide assistance, by way of residential facilities and life skills services, to persons of all ages who are in need. The mission includes a goal of providing decent, affordable housing to moderate- and low-income people.

Honors

Guerin Inc. is a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). In 2003, Guerin Inc. received the “Program of the Year Award” from the Indiana Association for Community Economic Development. In 2004, Guerin Inc. received a Governor’s Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing for “Special Needs Housing” provided on the Providence House for Children campus.

A development for senior citizens, Guerin Woods offers safe and affordable housing in a peaceful rural setting. Guerin Woods is located in Floyd County three miles from the I-64 and State Road 64 interchange, just seven miles from New Albany.

The Villas of Guerin Woods

  • Guerin Woods Apartments – The 900-square-foot, two-bedroom/one bath apartments are for individuals and couples age 62 and older with limited income. The 22 apartments feature front porches and ground level entrances.
  • Guerin Woods Senior Center – The 4,000-square-foot center contains meeting and gathering space, a computer lab, exercise equipment, a lending library and a full kitchen. Homemade nutritious luncheons are available Tuesdays and Thursdays; a $4 donation is requested. A community garden is located on the grounds along with a gazebo and picnic tables. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. All seniors in Floyd and surrounding counties are welcome.
  • The Villas of Guerin Woods – Three 10-unit “small house” residences provide assisted living and skilled nursing care for frail Elders age 62 and older. The Villas are state licensed and certified and accept Medicare, Medicaid, Medicaid Waiver Vouchers, long-term care insurance and private pay.
