Toby is part of the Dog Assist program and regularly visits in the Villas
In the cool of morning, seated in the garden/patio, Elders listen intently while a
compatissant (caregiver) reads to them. Later, they engage in lively strengthening
exercises, trim old blooms from the petunias, and set the table for lunch.
Sometimes they bake a cake or prepare their favorite recipes for dinner.
In the afternoon, they gather in the living area to visit with area pastors, watch
television, or play dominoes and cards. For solitude, they retreat to their
private bedrooms where they read, nap or simply gaze out the window at the
comings and goings of Guerin Woods. This is life for Elders living at The Villas of Guerin Woods, and they say it is good.
